Start date | 07/12/2020 |
Closing date | 08/02/2021 |
Background information
At the request of Foxton Parish Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council undertook a Community Governance Review of the parish of Foxton to consider whether there should be an increase in the number of parish councillors from nine to ten.
The parish of Foxton currently has an electorate of 1,033.
Why undertake the review?
The District Council carried out a Community Governance Review at this time because the Parish Council felt that additional councillors are required to improve effective governance against a background of increasing workload and challenges.
The Community Governance Review aims to secure an arrangement which:
- Reflects the identities and interests of the community in that area
- Is effective and convenient
- Takes into account any other arrangements for the purpose of community representation or community engagement.
It ought to result in arrangements which will bring about improved community engagement, better local democracy and result in more effective and convenient delivery of local services.
Please refer to the Terms of Reference, which were published on 7 December 2020.
The consultation ran from 7 December 2020 to 7 February 2021.
