Waste and Recycling guide for developers
The South Cambridgeshire refuse and recycling scheme
Our full service aims can be found in our planning guide below.
When designing a new residential development, there are many considerations to be made for waste and recycling provision. Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service encourages designers to contact our planning team for specific waste and recycling design guidance. Correct design will benefit the occupier and can help eliminate potential cost implications for incorrect design.
We aim to:
- Provide a kerbside collection for all existing and new developments.
- Increase our recycling rates by encouraging waste reduction and home composting.
- Make the service efficient, and in turn cost effective which will help to reduce vehicle emissions and our carbon footprint.
- Increase public safety by reducing the amount of reversing and unnecessary vehicle manoeuvres.
In all cases, please refer to this Waste and recycling guide for developers [PDF, 3MB] where you will find all the necessary requirements for recycling and waste provisions for all development sizes. This is tailored to our waste collection service.
