Harston Parish Council has a website dedicated to the Neighbourhood Plan.

Harston Parish Council submitted their Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents to us on the 11 December 2024.

We are seeking your views on the Neighbourhood Plan before it is considered by an examiner and can proceed towards a referendum. Comments can be submitted to us between 9am on Thursday 9 January 2025 and 5pm Thursday 20 February 2025. The Harston Neighbourhood Plan, its supporting documents, and details how to make comments are outlined below.

Neighbourhood area designated

The decision to designate the Harston neighbourhood area was made on 17 June 2022 by the Joint Director for Planning and Economic Development.

Pre-submission consultation (Regulation 14)

Harston carried out a consultation on their pre-submission Neighbourhood Plan for their parish.

The consultation is from 22 April 2024 to 11 June 2024. 

Strategic Environmental Assessment / Habitat Regulations Assessment Screening Determination Statement

With Harston Parish Council, we have jointly prepared a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) Screening Determination Statement (April 2024) [PDF, 1MB] [PDF, 1MB].

The Determination Statement screened in the Harston Neighbourhood Plan as requiring a SEA/HRA. As a result, AECOM commissioned by Harston Parish Council have prepared an Environmental Report setting out the findings of the assessment and recommendations for the Harston Neighbourhood Plan. AECOM prepared the following documents:  

Submission public consultation (Regulation 16) 

Harston Parish Council submitted their Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents to us on the 11 December 2024.

We have confirmed that the Neighbourhood Plan Complies with all the relevant statutory requirements [PDF, 0.2MB].

We are seeking your views on the Neighbourhood Plan before it is considered by an examiner and can proceed towards a referendum. Comments can be submitted to us between 9am on Thursday 9 January 2025 and 5pm Thursday 20 February 2025.

During the consultation you can view the Neighbourhood Plan, and its supporting documents, at our Offices in Cambourne or at Harston Village Hall:

  • South Cambridgeshire Hall, Cambourne Business Park, Cambourne, CB23 6EA – by appointment only.
  • Harston Village Hall, 20 High Street, Harston CB22 7PX- Available to view in the Small Committee Room when the hall or large committee room are booked for activities. These times can be found on the Harston Village Hall Calendar.
